Description

The particular rules to be applied to the questions of which court has jurisdiction to hear a case and which law will be applied to the determination of that case depend to a large extent on general and specific connecting factors between the dispute and a particular legal jurisdiction. This module will consider both European legal instruments and domestic rules in relation to questions of jusrisdiction and applicable law in contract and in tort. The module will also consider the issues of recognition and enforcement of judgements, as well as the approach of the legal instruments considered in comparison with possible alternative approaches from around the world.
